Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Smith Robinson ("we", "us") handles information when you visit diskolabs.org (the "Site"). DISKO Labs is a marketing and download site for our desktop and creative tools, and we designed it to collect as little as possible.
The short version
- No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, and no cookies for visitors.
- We don't sell or share your personal information.
- We keep lightweight, privacy-preserving visit statistics and never store your raw IP address.
- Accounts, cloud storage, and purchases happen on disko.media, which has its own privacy policy.
What we collect on this Site
Visit statistics. When you load a page we record a single line containing: the time, the page or app viewed, the referring website (domain only), any campaign tag you arrived with (for example ?ref=newsletter), and a short, irreversible token derived from your IP address, browser, and the current date. That token lets us count unique daily visitors without storing your IP address. The data lives in a plain log file on our own server and is not shared with anyone.
Email. If you email us (for example via a contact or "notify me" link), we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply.
Admin sessions. A single session cookie is used only by the Site owner to sign in to the private admin area. Visitors are never issued cookies.
What we do not collect
We don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social "like" trackers, or any cross-site tracking. We don't build visitor profiles, and we don't store your raw IP address or precise location.
Third-party services
- Fonts. The Site loads the Outfit typeface from Google Fonts. When it does, your browser contacts Google's servers, which may receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy for details.
- Hosting & downloads. Our web host and file/content-delivery providers process standard server logs in order to deliver the Site and app downloads.
- disko.media. Cloud features, accounts, and purchases are provided through disko.media and are governed by its own privacy policy and terms.
Our apps
DISKO desktop tools are local-first: they run on your computer and your media stays on your drive unless you choose to use a cloud feature. Data handled inside the apps is governed by the app's End User License Agreement and, where cloud sync is enabled, the disko.media privacy policy.
Data retention
Visit statistics are retained only as long as useful for understanding traffic and are pruned periodically. Emails you send are kept as long as needed to assist you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because this Site stores no raw IP address and no account data, we usually hold little or nothing that identifies you. To make a request, email hello@diskolabs.org.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected by the "last updated" date above.
