Match makes one clip look like another at a cut. Put it on the clip that should change, choose the other clip as the Reference Layer, and the two frames of the cut are filled in; keyframe Amount 0 to 100 for a smooth fade into the matched look. When the two frames show the same picture (an AI continuation made from a real frame, two cameras on one scene) Match pairs every part of the frame between them and fits a smooth 3D color lookup through the pairs, so exposure, contrast, white balance and cross-channel shifts land together. Different pictures (a close-up against a wide shot, another camera) are matched by what they share: both are balanced, the same face brought to the same brightness and skin tone, and the reference's own look (its grays, its blacks, its color) put back on top.

Side A What it does

  1. Reference Layer: match to another clip in the comp, no precomposing
  2. The cut's two frames fill in when the layer is chosen; one click sets either frame from the playhead
  3. Same picture in both frames: a smooth 3D color fit through paired blocks, so cross-channel shifts land too
  4. Different pictures: matched by faces, grays and black level, never by forcing one histogram onto another
  5. Best on Rec.709 footage; Input reads common camera logs as a rough starting point
  6. Skin Tone (pink to golden) and Skin Correction
  7. Works across real and AI-generated shots
  8. Analysis region controls and a keyframeable Amount
