DISKO Motion is a suite of After Effects and Premiere Pro plugins with no subscription attached. Each effect is its own floppy disk on the shelf at disko.media/motion: $7.99 a disk, or every one in the DISKO Motion V1 box set for $59.99. You pay once, every 1.x update is free, and every effect is fully featured in the trial before you spend a cent.

Why floppy disks

Because that's how software used to work. You bought it, it came on a disk, and it was yours. Nobody got in touch every month to check you were still enjoying it. We liked that deal, so we brought it back, label art and all.

To be clear, the disks are pictures. The effects install like any other download and your license code comes by email. But the deal is the real one: no late fees, and you keep the disk.

The disks

Five aisles. Each effect does one job, and most have their own write-up on this wall.

Type. Typetrace writes live text on with a human stroke order, from any font you have installed, and rebuilds the animation itself when the copy changes. No masks needed, and Boil adds the wobbling line of hand-drawn animation. Stitch sews text and logos on in thread, stitch by stitch, in the same pen order. Neon bends them into glass tubes that power on, flicker and light the wall behind them.

Time. Flow makes real in-between frames with a neural optical-flow model on your GPU, for slow motion and speed ramps. Shutter adds motion blur after the fact, following each pixel's real path.

Color. Balance keeps exposure and white balance steady over time, toward neutral or a reference frame, without pumping. Match maps one shot's color onto a reference frame, for matching cameras or real footage against AI-generated shots.

Stylize. Glitch is a seedable, event-driven glitch engine with 32 original recipes and a full Custom mode. Inferno sets any layer alight with procedural flames, smoke, sparks and heat distortion, with no particles to manage.

Repair. Unboil is three repair modes in one: it steadies shimmering, boiling AI video, removes noise it measures from the footage itself, and rescues crushed compression.

Try every disk before you buy one

The trial isn't a cut-down version. Every effect is fully featured and every control works. Renders carry a DISKO MOTION TRIAL watermark until you enter a license code, in Effect Controls > Options, or in After Effects through Window > DISKO Motion License.jsx. After that, no watermark.

What it runs on

Flow, Shutter and Unboil need a GPU: Metal on macOS, Vulkan 1.1 on Windows with a current graphics driver, for frames up to 16 megapixels. Balance, Match, Shutter and Unboil follow the After Effects project's color settings, linear or video, automatically.
